For all you classic rock enthusiasts and music history fans, this new-to-market property is just for you—and for $16 million, you can have it. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Steve Miller, frontman of the namesake Steve Miller Band, has put his Idaho home on the market, and as you’d expect, it’s marked with the footprints of music legends and beams with the sound of iconic rock riffs.
Listed by Darlene Young from our Sun Valley shop, Mr. Miller’s estate sits on over 13 acres of land on the Bigwood River in Sun Valley where Darlene says “winter and summer recreation opportunities abound”.
As is required for the rockstar lifestyle, the estate also features a recording studio, which is architecturally engineered for ideal acoustics but also fitted with a piano lift, vaulted cedar-beamed ceiling and climate-controlled instrument vault. In addition to a recording studio, Mr. Miller also added an archive building where he stores photography, art and his prized guitars in another high-security instrument vault.
Since purchasing his home, which he bought in the late 1980s, its hallowed halls have hosted the likes of Sir Paul McCartney—where he recorded and stayed in one of three guest cottages—and witnessed the creation of rock hits including “Wide River”, inspired by the property’s adjacent Bigwood River.
